In addition to working with existing pieces in your home, we take great pleasure in using unique items such as a restored antique, vintage lighting or a custom piece designed and built for you. We also promote and support talented fine artists, photographers and artisans that create beautiful home accessories.

Often in our designs, we utilize restored and reupholstered furniture, reclaimed architectural details, natural fiber & recycled fabrics, low VOC paints, etc. We believe that the products we offer will provide you with a healthier home and are better for the environment.

Julie Novak Stafford has always been passionate about Interior Design. In her youth, she found it rewarding to find an old piece of furniture to strip and restore or to find a new use for an item by changing it in some way. Once Julie studied Interior Design and realized that the use of color and placement of contents in a space truly affects how a person feels, she decided that this was the career path she wanted to take.

Julie studied Interior Design at Moore College of Art and Philadelphia College of Art, both in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  She completed her degree in 1983 at Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Julie spent the early years of her career as a Commercial Interior Designer also freelancing in Residential Interior Design. When her children were young, she switched to specializing in Kitchen & Bath Design. After spending eleven years designing custom cabinetry for high-end design firms, she knew it was time to venture on her own.

As a result, with a blend of 26 years experience, a genuine interest in Interior Design, her love for art & nature and a desire to create a healthier environment, Verde Home LLC was created.
